Be A No Baby Unhugged Mom
The Power of Hugs - Hugging In Hospitals

In Canadian hospitals, care for newborns is going through a rebirth of its own. While the past 50 years has seen increased reliance on medicine and machines to help the most vulnerable babies, hospitals are now discovering human touch and hugs are sometimes the best medicine.

How Can Baby Huggers Help?

Touch is proving to be so vital to a baby’s development, some hospitals are accepting trained volunteers to act as baby huggers, providing a human touch whenever mothers can’t.

Baby huggers rock, cuddle, sing and hug, sometimes for hours at a time. Currently, only a handful of Canadian hospitals are able to offer hugging programmes. But many more want them.
